“Even the hairs of your head have all been counted.
Luke 12:7
Do not be afraid.”
Reflection
Jesus continues to warn everyone of the Pharisees, for they are hypocrites. No secret will not be known, and all that is whispered behind doors will be revealed. The people should be afraid of those who can kill the body and soul. Yet, they should have faith in God and not be afraid, for he counts all the hair on their head.
Despite the obvious spiritual danger we all face from evil, we can put our trust in the Lord and not be unduly afraid. As Jesus says, we are worth more than many sparrows, and God looks after the sparrows. In the same way, our heavenly Father looks after us. We must simply follow his commands and stay close to him.
If we align ourselves with Christ and take care to center our lives on him, we place ourselves down a holy and righteous path. Even when trials arise, we can turn to Jesus and have him assist us through difficult times. Be not afraid, for God is with you always.
