“How much more will the Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit
Luke 11:13
to those who ask him?”
Reflection
Jesus tells his disciples that if they ask, they will receive; if they seek, they will find. If even the wicked give good things to their children, how much more will their Father in heaven give them the Holy Spirit?
Although we are told to pray often, sometimes we don’t ask God for what we truly want. We hide these desires in our hearts, afraid God won’t answer them. But if they are honorable and in accord with his will, our heavenly Father will grant those desires in a perfect way.
In addition, he will give us the Holy Spirit in abundance if we ask. Jesus tells us that we need to simply ask, and we will receive. Of course, we don’t always receive things the way we want or think should happen, but Christ fulfills everything perfectly, in ways that help follow his holy will. What are you yearning to ask of God today?
