Then they set out and went from village to village
Luke 9:6
proclaiming the Good News and curing diseases everywhere.
Reflection
Jesus gives the Twelve Apostles power over all demons and the ability to cure diseases and heal the sick. He sends them out to proclaim the Kingdom of God, telling them to take nothing for their journey. If a town does not welcome them, they are to leave and shake the dust from their feet in testimony against them.
Jesus calls us to go out and proclaim the Kingdom of God in our own circles of influence. We might not have the ability to cure disease, but with our own gifts, we can change people’s lives. Evangelizing can be scary, but when we call upon the Holy Spirit to help us, our efforts do not go unrewarded.
Proclaiming the good news of Christ’s love and mercy looks different for each of us, but we should all approach evangelization with charity and mercy ourselves. Bringing others close to Jesus requires us to mirror Jesus to them in our actions and words – how can you do this today?
