Reflection

Jesus drives out a demon, and people are amazed. He continues to teach in the synagogues and cure people of disease. His heart is moved with pity for all the troubled people, and so he tells his disciples to ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest.

Just as in his time, Jesus’ heart is moved with pity for the troubled and abandoned people today. So many people are lost, searching for something that they think can be found in identity, ideologies, substances, or other people. Our Lord is the one who provides us with true meaning and purpose. He comes to those who feel abandoned and troubled and offers his humble, loving heart.

Christ approaches us, too, and asks for us to give him a chance. We are all troubled at various times and need guidance from our Savior. His loving hand will guide us to a love and peace that is only found in God. Will you open your heart to Christ and let him in?
