“Lord, I am not worthy to have you enter under my roof;
Matthew 8:8
only say the word and my servant will be healed.”
Reflection
A centurion approaches Jesus and asks for his servant to be healed. The centurion asks only for Jesus’ word, and at this, Jesus is amazed at the man’s faith; he heals the servant because of this.
Is our faith as bold and strong as the centurion’s? He understood the authority Jesus had and so put his faith in it. He believed that a word was enough for his servant to be healed. This profound faith is something we should imitate to the best of our ability.
Reflect on how you can increase your faith. Find inspiration from a favorite saint or Scripture passage. Ask the Holy Spirit for the courage and perseverance to always have faith in God, even in the darkest of moments.
