Gospel Reflection – May 25, 2026

Today we remember the Blessed Virgin Mary as Mother of the Church. The Gospel reading relates how Jesus presents his mother to John, the beloved disciple, while he is on the cross. He tells Mary to behold her son, John, and for John to behold his mother, Mary.

Christ gave us his own mother as our spiritual mother and as the mother of the Catholic Church. She cares for us as a mother does, loving us no matter what and always interceding for us. She not only guides us as individuals, but guides the Catholic Church as well, showing us the path to her Son, Jesus. How can you grow in devotion to our mother today?
