“And whatever you ask in my name, I will do,
John 14:13
so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.”
Reflection
Jesus tells his disciples that if they know him, they know the Father. Philip asks Jesus to show them the Father, and Jesus says that the words he speaks are not his own, but come from the Father who dwells in him. Whoever believes in the works Jesus does will do similar things, and whatever they ask in his name, he will do it so that the Father may be glorified.
All that Jesus did and continues to do in everyone’s lives glorifies God, his Father. Through Jesus, we experience the love of God, our heavenly Father, and become closer to our Creator. We develop a deeper understanding of the Holy Trinity as well.
Our mission in life should be to develop a closer relationship with Jesus. In so doing, we also develop a closer relationship with God the Father. As any good son does, Jesus leads us to his Father and at the same time glorifies him, for that is what God deserves. Reflect on how you can glorify God along with Jesus, in your actions and faithfulness.
