Gospel Reflection – April 29, 2026

Jesus says that whoever believes in him also believes in the one who sent him. He came into the world as light so that those who believe in him will not remain in darkness. The Father commanded Jesus what to say, and his commandment is eternal life.

There is much darkness in the world. Sin and evil permeate many things, leading us into darkness if we follow them. Yet there is hope, for Light has entered the world – Christ Jesus. If we center our lives around the true Light, the darkness cannot overcome it.

When we take our faith seriously, actively believing in Jesus and following his commands, joy, light, and peace in our lives increases. When we fall into sin and stray from Christ, we soon experience darkness in various forms. Confession restores us to right relation with Christ, once again shining his light on us. Reflect on how dark your life was before knowing Christ – how has his light transformed you?
