Gospel Reflection – April 26, 2026

Jesus declares that he is the gate for the sheep. He is the shepherd who calls his sheep by name, and they know his voice. The sheep do not follow a stranger or the thieves that came before Christ. Jesus came so that the sheep might have life and have it more abundantly.

A good shepherd watches over his sheep, guides them to good pasture, and leads them through life. All these things Jesus does for us. He is the ultimate Good Shepherd, who never abandons us and is constantly being vigilant over our lives.

When we experience times of difficulty and hardship, we may think Christ is far away. Yet if we listen closely, we hear our name being called, and he leads us back to the light. Draw near to Jesus always, for he will lead you home.
