“So also the one who feeds on me will have life because of me.”
John 6:57
John 6:52-59
Reflection
The Jews ask how it is possible for Jesus to give them his flesh to eat. Jesus then says that they do not have life within them if they do not drink his blood and eat his flesh. The person who feeds on him will have life because of him.
If we feed on Jesus, we will have life. This corresponds to a spiritual life, but it can also apply to our actual lives. Fortifying ourselves with the Eucharist brings additional meaning to our daily lives. It enriches our relationships, brings purpose to our work, and allows us to love better.
Of course, our spiritual life benefits as well, for we learn how to grow in virtue and relationship with Christ, drawing ever nearer to him. How is Jesus calling you to partake in his Body and Blood?
