Gospel Reflection – October 28, 2026

Jesus prays by himself at a mountain, and afterwards chooses the Twelve Apostles. Today, we celebrate the feast of saints Simon and Jude. They were two of the Twelve Apostles who faithfully served the Lord and were martyred for spreading the Gospel.

Jesus chose twelve ordinary men to be his Apostles. They were not particularly well educated or particularly holy, but through them, God allowed his message and kingdom to be spread throughout the world. We might think of ourselves as not worthy to preach Christ’s love or evangelize. But we can look the Apostles as good examples of people who didn’t always understand, but still faithfully carried out the will of God.

God chooses you to spread his message in a unique way daily. We must be open to it and promise to faithfully act upon his words and will. How can you be brave like the Apostles today?
