Jesus said, “What is the Kingdom of God like?
Luke 13:18
To what can I compare it?”
Reflection
Jesus compares the Kingdom of God to a mustard seed that, when fully grown, holds the birds of the sky in its branches. He also compares it to a woman who takes yeast and mixes it into flour until the whole batch is leavened.
The Kingdom of God may seem small, or start out small, but it becomes the largest of things when planted in good soil. We can help enlarge the Kingdom of God by preaching the Gospel, living Christian lives, and spreading Christ’s love to all we encounter.
Our own efforts might seem small or unimportant, but each of us can build up the Lord’s kingdom. If we are faithful and diligent in pursuing God and being like Christ to others, we contribute to our Lord’s Kingdom and his message for all humankind. What effort will you give today?
