Reflection
Jesus explains the parable of the sower to his disciples. The seed sown on different parts of the ground are people who all react differently to the word of God – some falling away easily, others bearing no fruit although initially filled with joy, and yet others who hear the word and bear much fruit.
We must always be on guard against the devil. Jesus tells us that we can hear the word of God and not understand it, and the Evil One can come and steal it away. Even as Christians, we are not immune to the devil and his temptations. He tries his hardest to make us turn away from Christ and leave goodness, truth, and beauty behind.
We should renew our faith daily – speaking to God regularly, asking for his intercession and grace with all our actions and words. Let us truly take to heart the words of God and his will for our lives. Rebuke the devil and keep Christ, Mary, and St. Joseph near to you at all times, for then you will bear great fruit.
