Reflection
The disciples ask Jesus why he speaks to the crowds in parables, and he replies that the mysteries of the Kingdom of heaven have been granted to them, but not the general population. The people hear but do not understand, look but do not see.
We are blessed to have received our faith. We have knowledge of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. We participate in the sacraments, which bring us closer to our Creator. This is something that should not be taken for granted. As Jesus tells his disciples, they were blessed to receive knowledge of the mysteries of the Kingdom of heaven, but others were not. We are blessed to be Catholic and have the fullness of truth.
It can be easy to ignore our faith or take it for granted. The world offers other enticing ideologies, faiths, and activities. Yet those things are not fulfilling, and only make us more blind to the truth of Jesus Christ. Today, reflect on your faith. What are you grateful for understanding, and what are some aspects where your eyes can be opened to further beauty?
