Reflection
Jesus tells his Apostles that no disciple is above his teacher, and it is enough that the disciple become like his teacher. All things concealed will be revealed, and they should proclaim what Jesus tells them on the housetops. They should not be afraid because the Father counts every hair on their heads, and if they acknowledge Jesus before others, Jesus will acknowledge them before his heavenly Father.
All the hairs on your head are counted by God. He knows you so intimately that it is hard for us to truly understand. He knows the movements of our hearts, the thoughts in our minds, the emotions we feel. There is nothing we can keep secret from God.
Our Lord tells us this because he wants us to know how much we are cared for. God takes care of the sparrows, and we are worth much more than a sparrow. To give worry a predominant position in our lives is not what Christ wants. He wants us to place himself at the center of our lives, where trust, love, joy, and comfort abide. Do not be afraid – he is always with you.
