Reflection

Jesus praises his Father in heaven for revealing things to the little ones. He tells all who labor and are burdened to come to him, and he will give them rest. His yoke is easy and his burden light.

Jesus implores us to come to him. He announces that although there will be a yoke and a burden for following him, it will be light and easy. The Lord’s heart is meek and humble, full of love for everyone. Today, we celebrate the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Christ invites us into his heart, where true rest is found.

In our modern society, we are often overwhelmed and overburdened. It is difficult to find peace and rest in a culture that is constantly moving and full of noise. But when we take the time to rest in Jesus’ heart, we can realign our priorities and let Christ take some of our burden. Learn from him how to be meek and humble of heart, letting your own heart overflow with love.
