Gospel Reflection – April 28, 2026

The Jews ask Jesus to tell them plainly if he is the Christ. Jesus replies that he has told them, but they do not believe because they are not among his sheep. Jesus gives his sheep eternal life and no one can take them out of his hand because the Father has given them to him.

Jesus tells and shows us plainly that he is God. He works miracles in our lives constantly, even if we are not always aware of them. The Jews came to Jesus with a disbelieving attitude, and so they could not see the truth for what it was. But if we take care to not become blind to Christ’s divinity, we see that he truly is God.

Disbelief only hardens our hearts. It can turn us away from our Good Shepherd and lead us down paths of confusion. However, if we choose to believe all that Jesus tells us, even if difficult to understand, we come to greater peace. We must always listen to the voice of Christ, for he leads us to our eternal home.
