For the one whom God sent speaks the words of God.
JOhn 3:34
He does not ration his gift of the Spirit.
Reflection
The one who comes from above, Jesus, testifies to all the Father has told him, but no one accepts his testimony. Those who do accept it certify that God is trustworthy. Jesus speaks the words of God, and does not ration his gift of the Spirit. All who believe in the Son have eternal life.
The gift of the Holy Spirit is not rationed out to people. While some may receive more graces or have more talents than others, this is not because God assigns us a predetermined amount of Holy Spirit. Rather, when we call upon the Holy Spirit and work on developing a deep spiritual life, the graces flow.
When we are faithful to God and trust in him, we begin to see how the Holy Spirit shapes our everyday life. We see the moments of grace and are not as blind to them. Listening to Jesus and following his words lead to greater holiness and peace in our lives. How can you tune in to the Holy Spirit today and love God more?
