Gospel Reflection – May 31, 2026

Today’s Gospel reading is the famous passage from John, where we hear that God loved the world so much he gave his only Son to us so that anyone who believes in him might have eternal life.

As Christians, we believe in Christ and his promise of eternal life. We believe he became human to save and redeem us, thus ensuring a path to heaven. Yet just because we believe doesn’t mean we always live in a way that emphasizes this belief.

We should not take our faith for granted. It is something that must be nurtured and kept constant in our lives. If we profess to believe in Christ but live contrary to his teachings and don’t maintain a Christian lifestyle and mindset, our belief becomes null. Our faith is living and vibrant; it is not stagnant or meant to be pushed aside, only useful at a certain time.

Jesus calls us to himself and pushes us to profess our belief in him boldly, live our Christian lives with courage, and love all we encounter with the love of God himself.
