Gospel Reflection – May 21, 2026

Jesus continues to pray, asking that those who believe in him will be one with the Father and that the world may believe in Jesus. He wishes for his disciples to see his glory, and has made known to them the love he and the Father share.

God’s love for us is infinite. He wants us to experience this love deeply. Jesus prays that the love the Father has for him may be in his disciples. This love knows no bounds and is always present, never wavering. How beautiful that our Lord loves us infinitely.

We can meditate upon Christ’s words about love in this Gospel – love for his Father and love for us, his disciples. He desires for us to reciprocate this love to the best of our ability. How do we love Christ? We follow his commandments, listen to his voice, and obey his will. As we do this, our love increases and we grow closer to our eternally loving Father.

Saint of the Day

St. Cristóbal Magallanes and Companions: died between 1915 – 1937

St. Cristóbal Magallanes and companions, mostly diocesan priests, were all martyred for their faith over a number of years in Mexico, during an anti-Catholic regime. They continued celebrating the sacraments and promoting the Faith even amidst persecution.

St. Cristóbal Magallanes and Companions, pray for us!
