Reflection

In the Gospel, we hear about the shepherds finding Jesus, Mary, and Joseph in the stable. They praised God for what they had seen, and Mary kept everything that occurred in her heart.

Today is the Solemnity of Mary, the Holy Mother of God. We honor Mary not only as Jesus’ physical mother, but as our spiritual mother as well. Mary constantly intercedes for us, desiring to bring us closer to her Son. Like a true mother, she is always willing to assist us in any trial.

Today, reflect on Mary’s motherhood. How has she been a mother to you, and how can you be a loving and devoted child to her?
