Reflection

Jesus chooses his twelve Apostles after spending a night in prayer on a mountain. When they all come down from the mountain, a large crowd is gathered because they want to be healed by Jesus.

The Gospel tells us that everyone wanted to touch Jesus because power came forth from him and was healing. Just as the people then, we too desire to touch Jesus and be healed. We want him to touch our lives in such a way that we are healed of whatever is ailing us.

One of Jesus’ main attributes we hear about explicitly in the Gospels is his power to heal. We know that Jesus can physically and spiritually heal, and we have all experienced some form of healing from him during our lives. The healing is not always obvious right away, but when we reflect on things that used to wound us in particular ways, we realize that Christ has helped to heal the wound.

Today, reflect on how Jesus has personally healed you, and ask for him to continue doing so the rest of your life.
