“But you do not know where it comes from or where it goes;
JOhn 3:8
so it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
Reflection
Nicodemus the Pharisee comes to Jesus at night, telling him he is a teacher who must come from God because of the signs and deeds he performs. Jesus replies that unless a person is born of water and Spirit, they cannot enter the Kingdom of God. Just as the wind blows where it wills, so does the Spirit and those who are born of it.
What does your relationship with the Holy Spirit look like? Do you frequently ask the Holy Spirit for guidance, or do you barely acknowledge him? If we pay close attention, we begin to realize how much the Holy Spirit influences our daily lives.
It can be in the way we interact with someone, or drive on the road, or wash the dishes. Maybe we approach these interactions and tasks with a humble and joyful spirit rather than the usual disdain they incur. However the Holy Spirit guides and influences you, it is good to pay attention and recognize God’s hand in every aspect of your life. Reflect on how you can identify the Holy Spirit at work in your life today.
