Gospel Reflection – April 6, 2026

Yesterday was Easter Sunday, and today we continue the Easter celebration, where our Lord rose from the dead! Mary Magdalene and the other Mary are greeted by Jesus on the way to telling his disciples the good news. Jesus tells them to not be afraid, and go meet his disciples in Galilee.

Imagine running from Jesus’ empty tomb, only to meet our Lord shortly after in the flesh, alive once again. The two Mary’s must have been shocked and overjoyed. We get the chance to encounter Jesus daily in every church and Adoration chapel. Do we have the same reaction of being overjoyed at seeing our Lord?

It can sometimes be difficult to maintain a sense of awe and wonder when we encounter Christ in the Eucharist, yet we should strive to do so. Our Risen Lord is here with us always, giving us a good reason to be joyful. How can you cultivate and maintain a true Easter joy?
