Gospel Reflection – March 25, 2026

Today is the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord. We celebrate Mary’s yes to God, where she submits to becoming the mother of Christ. We can reflect on Mary’s reaction and her yes today, striving to become more like our spiritual mother.

While Mary ponders what the angel Gabriel’s greeting means and asks how she will conceive, she doesn’t doubt that God will do what he says. She knows that God can achieve anything, but wonders how it will be accomplished. We should be like Mary, not doubting that God will do what he says.

When we trust in the Lord, even as we lack understanding of how his plan will be accomplished, we grow in faith, awe, and joy. God guides us along righteous and holy paths if we let him. Ask Mary to help you trust our Lord more and say yes to his holy will.

“The Church of God is not a restful garden, but a working vineyard.”
