Gospel Reflection – March 15, 2026

Jesus heals a blind man, and whole arguments ensue over this miracle – between the Pharisees and the former blind man, his parents, and his neighbors. People argue about who Jesus is and how he can perform such a sign. Throughout everything, the former blind man continues to defend Jesus and eventually professes his belief in him.

The blind man shows faith that continues to increase throughout the Gospel. At first, he does not know who Jesus is, but as he defends him and credits Christ with healing him, the man’s faith grows. Finally, Jesus tells the blind man that he is the Son of Man, and the man believes and worships.

Our own faith should always be increasing as well. Encounters with Christ, daily Gospel readings, attending Mass, and more can all contribute to deepening our faith. We might not experience a miracle like the blind man, but we can all take part in his trust and faith in the Lord. Jesus desires to open your eyes, heart, and soul to him more profoundly every day – will you let him?
