Gospel Reflection – February 25, 2026

Jesus calls his generation evil. They ask for a sign, but will not receive one, only the sign of Jonah. Jesus says at the judgment, the people of Ninevah will condemn this generation because they did not repent.

The people of Jesus’ generation ask for a sign, but do not realize that Jesus is the sign, and he is right in front of them. They expect something different than Christ, and so are not satisfied. Are we the same, asking for a sign from God, when Jesus is right in front of us?

Our Lord contains everything we need, whether we realize it or not. We can go looking elsewhere for answers, comfort, and happiness. Yet only in Christ are these truly found. Reflect on how you can recognize Jesus for who he is – God, our Savior, and our friend, and ask him to increase your trust in him.

Saint of the Day

St. Luigi Versiglia: 1873 – 1930

“Don Bosco saw that when we came to China a chalice would be filled with blood, Salesian work would spread marvelously throughout this immense population. You are bringing me the chalice our Father saw: it is up to me to fill it with blood to fulfil the vision.”

St. Luigi Versiglia
