Gospel Reflection – February 24, 2026

Jesus teaches his disciples the Our Father prayer. He tells them not to babble in prayer like the pagans do, for the Father already knows what they need before asking.

When we pray, we of course ask for circumstances to turn in our favor. We desire a good outcome for ourselves or others. Yet in the prayer Jesus himself gives us, he instructs us to pray that the Father’s will be done, not our own.

Sometimes this means a different outcome than we expect or want. God the Father knows exactly how to answer our prayers, despite our lack of understanding. Today, reflect on how you can better pray for your will to align with the Father’s, asking that his will be done.
