He woke up, rebuked the wind,
Mark 4:39
and said to the sea, “Quiet! Be still!”
Reflection
Jesus and his disciples are crossing the water in a boat when a squall comes up and begins to sink the boat. Jesus is sleeping, and his disciples wake him up, frightened. Jesus rebukes the wind and sea, with everything calming down. He asks why they are terrified, and they are filled with awe.
Jesus always rides along with us on this journey of life. Sometimes he is sleeping and clearly unworried about what is occurring, while we continue to be terrified. In those moments, we must look to our Lord, asking for faith and patience to get through a particular trial.
Jesus is our anchor and will never let us drown. He is there to guide us through any situation if we let him. Have faith in Christ your entire life, it will be well rewarded.
