Gospel Reflection – January 30, 2026

Jesus compares the Kingdom of God both to a small mustard seed that grows into a large tree, and a field where seed is scattered that grows abundant grain and is harvested when ripe.

We often hear about having mustard seed faith. If our faith was the size of a tiny mustard seed, it would be great. Some days, we might have that faith, and others not so much. Giving God our all and having great faith requires us to maintain absolute trust in the Lord. While this is not always easy, it is essential.

When we trust in the Lord, we can focus on the present moment and not on our worries. We can give of ourselves to those around us in a profound way and have faith that our prayers will be answered in just the way we need them to be. Our mustard seed faith can slowly grow into a large tree that brings others to Christ and allows his love to be seen and felt. Will you trust in the Lord today and ask him to increase your faith?
