Gospel Reflection – January 28, 2026

Jesus teaches a large crowd of people by the sea. He tells them a parable about seed falling on different types of ground. Later, the disciples ask what the parable meant, and Jesus explains that the seed is the word of God, and the type of soil it falls on is the person who hears the word of God.

This parable is well known and asks us to reflect on what type of soil we are. Do we hear the word God and let it permeate our lives, truly transforming us? Or do we hear it, rejoice awhile, but then let it die because our priorities lie elsewhere? Jesus wants us to be the rich and fruitful soil, because it is here that we can truly absorb what he is teaching us and then live out his will.

We must not let Satan and the world take away God’s word from our life. The Gospels and the entire Bible help us grow in relationship with Christ, become holier people, and truly strive for heaven. Let the word of God influence you today and transform you interiorly.
