Gospel Reflection – December 26, 2025

Jesus tells his disciples that they will be handed over to courts and scourged because of Jesus. They are not to worry about what they will say because the Holy Spirit will speak through them. Family members will hand over family members, but whoever endures to the end will be saved.

We might not be physically brought to court because of Jesus, but we can certainly be put on trial before friends and family because of our faith. When we stand up against popular culture and norms that are contrary to our faith, we might become hated by those closest to us. Yet if we endure in our morals and the truth of Christ, then we have the chance to be saved.

Jesus is telling us that it won’t be easy to be a Christian; but the Trinity will be there to guide us. Pray to the Lord for strength to endure any trials you may face because of your faith.

Saint of the Day

St. Stephen: ca. AD 5 – 34

Stephen, filled with grace and power, was working great wonders and signs among the people… When they heard this, they were infuriated, and they ground their teeth at him. But he, filled with the Holy Spirit, looked up intently to heaven and saw the glory of God and Jesus standing at the right hand of God, and he said, “Behold, I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.”

Acts of the Apostles 6:8, 7:54-56
