“Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened,
Matthew 11:28
and I will give you rest.”
Reflection
Jesus tells the crowds to take his yoke upon them, for it is easy, and his burden light. All those who are weary and burdened should come to Jesus, for he will give them rest.
In this season of Advent, we should take our Lord’s words to heart. As Christmas approaches, we often run around and keep a busy schedule, without truly resting. Jesus wants us to rest, not only in preparation for his birth, but also to give ourselves the chance to reflect on our spiritual journey.
We can easily become overburdened and full of worry, but if we place Christ at the center of our lives, he always gives us rest when we need it. How can you rest this Advent and focus on Jesus?
