Gospel Reflection – December 3, 2025

Many crowds come to Jesus, bringing with them people who have various ailments, and Jesus heals them. Jesus then summons his disciples and tells them he wants to feed the crowds, for they have been with him for three days. Although there are only seven loaves of bread and a few fish to be found, Jesus feeds the entire crowd and everyone is satisfied.

In this Gospel, we witness Jesus’ love and generosity for us. Not only does he heal many people from their illnesses and diseases, but he also feeds them. After three long days, Jesus is moved with pity for them because the crowds have stayed with him so long, yet have nothing to eat. After the initial healing is done, he continues to provide for his flock.

Jesus doesn’t just leave us after he has healed us. He continues to be there for us, nourishing us in just the way we need. He never washes his hands of us once a prayer has been answered. Our Lord is constantly wishing to provide us with his love and comfort, if only we let him in. Reflect on how Christ continues to heal and love you; thank him for his great mercy and generosity.
