“And then they will see Heaven and earth will pass away,
Luke 21:33
but my words will not pass away.”
Reflection
Jesus tells his disciples to consider a tree and its buds. When its buds open, they know summer is coming; in the same way, when they see various signs occurring, they will know the kingdom of God is at hand. Jesus says that although heaven and earth will pass away, his words will never pass away.
Jesus and his words will always endure, even when our physical world is coming to an end. Even when we or future generations witness signs that indicate the passing away of this earth, we can rest assured that Christ himself will never be erased.
Reflect on how Jesus’ words have made an impact in your life. What comfort he brings to every stage of life, even as our earthly journey ends.
