Gospel Reflection – October 27, 2025

On the sabbath, Jesus heals a woman who has been crippled for eighteen years by a demon. The leader of the synagogue is angry that Jesus worked on the sabbath, but Jesus says that she deserves to be set free on the sabbath.

Jesus heals a woman after more than a decade of suffering. Presumably she prayed to be healed for many years. We, too, may pray for many years to be healed from some affliction. God answers our prayers in his own perfect timing.

It is a beautiful thing to be healed by the Lord. He may work in ways that seem mysterious to us, but are planned to bring us closer to him in the end. If you are waiting to be healed in some fashion, ask Jesus to give you patience and courage to undergo all the transformations he desires for you in order to be fully healed.
