Gospel Reflection – October 12, 2025

As Jesus is traveling, ten lepers call out to him to have pity on them. Jesus tells them to show themselves to the priests; on the way they are cleansed. Only one leper, a Samaritan, returns to Jesus, glorifying God. Jesus tells the man his faith has saved him.

Have you ever prayed to be healed in a particular way, been healed, and then forgot to offer thanks to God? Sometimes we are focused so much on wanting to be healed, constantly praying and expecting a result, that when we finally are healed, we neglect to thank Christ. We can’t only ask for healing and then go on our way when it occurs, ignoring Christ’s help we’ve received.

We should always be thanking God for all the good he does in our lives, not just in times of healing. He helps sanctify us daily, both through healing and suffering. Through it all, we must remember to thank Jesus for his great love he has for all of us. How can you start to be more grateful for the Lord’s intercession in your life and thank him for all that he does?
