Gospel Reflection – October 8, 2025

The disciples ask Jesus to teach them how to pray. He gives them the “Our Father” prayer.

Oftentimes, we find it difficult to pray. There are many methods of prayer that exist, and it can seem that we don’t truly “know” how to pray. When we become confused, we might not pray at all, fearing that we are doing it wrong. Yet Jesus wants us to always pray; he gives us a formula to help guide us in our prayer – the “Our Father.”

Our Lord wants us to open our hearts to him sincerely. If we aren’t sure how we should pray, we can simply ask him like the disciples did. He will show us the way, gently inspiring and guiding our prayer. All we have to do is ask.
