Jesus tells his disciples to love their enemies and treat others as they would want to be treated. Loving one’s enemies can be a difficult thing to do, but it is the Christian way.

Jesus wants us to also pray for those who mistreat us. Sometimes loving your enemy is simply praying for them. Every person needs prayers, and by asking the Lord to bless a person we dislike, we begin to grow in virtue. As followers of Christ, we will always have enemies. The key is to treat all people with respect and charity, even when they don’t deserve it.

How can you begin to love everyone better? Ask for the grace to love like Jesus, to have his heart in the most difficult of situations.
