“You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart,
matthew 22:37
with all your soul, and with all your mind.”
Reflection
A Pharisee asks Jesus which commandment is the greatest. He replies that loving God with all your heart, soul, and mind is the greatest and first commandment. The second is that you shall love your neighbor as yourself.
Do we love God above all else? Jesus tells us we must love God with our entire heart, soul, and mind. We can’t only love God intellectually or emotionally – it must be a love that encompasses our entire being.
Ask our Lord for the grace to love him better every day. If you struggle to love him more than something on this earth, bring it to his feet, and he will transform your love, making it purer and drawing it to himself.
Saint of the Day
Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary
“We are instituting a feast so that all may recognize more clearly and venerate more devoutly the merciful and maternal sway of the Mother of God. We are convinced that this feast will help to preserve, strengthen and prolong that peace among nations which daily is almost destroyed by recurring crises. Is she not a rainbow in the clouds reaching towards God, the pledge of a covenant of peace?”
