Gospel Reflection – August 10, 2025

Jesus tells the disciples some parables about servants awaiting their master’s return. For the servants who are prepared at all hours and follow the master’s instructions, they will be blessed. For those servants who do the opposite, they will be punished severely.

We are the servants waiting for Jesus’ return and our own earthly end. The Lord tells his disciples that they must be prepared for when the Son of Man comes, because it will be at an unexpected hour. How do you live your life? Do you live according to God’s will or your own?

We must always be preparing ourselves throughout our lives. We do not know when we will die or when Jesus will come again. We may not have time to repent of evil ways or change bad habits ‘when we are older,’ because that day might never come. Today, reflect on how you can live a holier life, constantly preparing yourself to meet our Savior.
