Gospel Reflection – July 24, 2025

The disciples ask Jesus why he speaks to the crowds in parables, and Jesus replies that knowledge of the kingdom of heaven has been granted to the disciples, but not to the people at large. He tells them they are blessed to see and hear what they do, for many people before their time wished for these things, but were not granted it.

We have the privilege to hear Jesus’ words daily and witness his goodness is our lives. We even get to see Jesus himself, present in the Eucharist. Yet we don’t always appreciate this great gift, instead taking Christ for granted. Not everyone has this privilege today or did in the past. We should always remember that Christ and his Church is a wonderful gift that should be cherished.

How can we turn an attitude of disinterest into one of gratitude? Start by praying daily and being purposeful in your relationship with Jesus. Use your ears to hear what Jesus is telling you, and your eyes to see how Jesus is working in your life. Open your heart and soul to the Lord, listening and learning from him as he leads you to heaven.
