Gospel Reflection – July 9, 2025

Jesus gives the Twelve Apostles authority over unclean spirits and the ability to cure all disease and illness. Then he sends them out to the ‘lost sheep of Israel’ to proclaim the kingdom of heaven.

While the Gospel has been preached to all people now, including Gentiles, there are still many lost sheep in the world. People who are trying to find meaning for their lives, seeking a purpose. It is easy to encounter someone in our daily lives who is lost, looking for more. When we meet these people, perhaps a relative, friend, or coworker, we should take extra time to show them the love of Christ.

By our example, they might become slightly less lost and begin searching for Jesus. When we preach the Gospel, we can open people’s eyes to the truth Christ declares and reveal that we are merely pilgrims on this earth, journeying towards heaven. How can you bring comfort, peace, and joy to someone who is lost, bringing Christ to them in a personal and loving way?
