Gospel Reflection – June 15, 2025

Today is the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity. The Gospel honors all three persons of the Trinity – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Jesus tells his disciples that the Holy Spirit will come and guide them to truth. The Holy Spirit will glorify Jesus, for everything that Jesus has is the Father’s.

The relationship between the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is intricate and intimate. In this Gospel, we experience part of the love that exists between them. Everything is shared between the three persons; there is no holding back or keeping something to oneself. We should aim to exemplify this, especially in our own families.

The Lord wants us to follow his example of love and trust, for it is perfect. Although we often struggle with this, it is important to never give up and continue persevering in the example set forth by the Holy Trinity. Love, self-sacrifice, commitment, peace, joy – these are all things we can experience when we live as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit do.

Saint of the Day

St. Germaine Cousin: 1579 – 1601

O sweet and blessed Germaine spouse of Jesus Christ, to whom every morning at sunrise, the Angels descended in the form of a garland, and which already made your crown. Pray for us.

O sweet and blessed Germaine spouse of Jesus Christ, you to whom the Angels came down every morning to console you. Pray for us.

O sweet and blessed Germaine spouse of Jesus Christ, for whom the Blessed Virgin came down every morning and wiped your tears, and brought the fragrances of the Lord into her heart. Pray for us.
