Gospel Reflection – June 3, 2025

Jesus prays to his Father that his hour has come. He asks to be glorified by accomplishing what he was sent to do. Jesus tells the Father that he has revealed the Father’s name to those who were given to him, and that they believe in Christ. Jesus says he and the Father have both been glorified in each other.

Jesus says that eternal life is knowing God and himself. This is a profound statement to reflect upon. Eternity will consist of knowing the Holy Trinity at the deepest level of our being. This is something we should ponder daily. The Father and Son have been revealed to us on earth, but what we know now is a tiny drop compared to the vastness of God.

Through his Passion, Jesus glorifies the Father, and we get to share in a part of that glory. We belong to Christ and he intercedes for us constantly. We must strive to follow our Lord always so that one day we can rest in eternal life and explore, ponder, and love the mystery of our God, the Trinity.
