“And when he comes he will convict the world

in regard to sin and righteousness and condemnation.”
John 16:5-11
Reflection
Jesus tells his disciples that it is a good thing he is going away, for then the Counselor (Holy Spirit) can come to them and reveal true sin, righteousness, and judgment to the world.
The Holy Spirit is powerful and at work in every aspect of the world and our lives. When we feel the inspiration to do or say a particular thing that didn’t seem to come from our own mind, many times it is the Holy Spirit nudging us. Do we pay attention to those moments or not?
How do we cultivate a better relationship with the Holy Spirit, the person of the Trinity who offers counsel and wisdom? We must pay attention and ask for an increase in awareness of him. The Holy Spirit wants to reveal many things to you and guide you towards the truth of Christ, but you must be willing and open. Reflect on how you can deepen your relationship with the Holy Spirit today.

St. Augustine of Canterbury: AD 534 – 604
“But because you are come from far as strangers into my kingdom, and, as I conceive, are desirous to impart to us those things which you believe to be true, and most beneficial, we desire not to harm you, but will give you favorable entertainment, and take care to supply you with all things necessary to your sustenance; nor do we forbid you to preach and gain as many as you can to your religion.”
