Gospel Reflection – May 25, 2025

Jesus tells his disciples that whoever loves him keeps his word and that the Holy Spirit will be sent by the Father once Jesus is gone. He tells them to not let their hearts be troubled or afraid and to rejoice that he is going back to the Father.

Often, we may turn to God the Father or Jesus rather than the Holy Spirit when praying or looking for answers. Yet Jesus tells us that the Holy Spirit has been sent by the Father to teach us and remind us of Jesus’ words. What is your relationship with the Holy Spirit like?

Do you feel actively engaged with the Holy Spirit, recognizing their presence and work in your daily life? Or do you rather feel a lack of connection? Whatever the case, pray to the Holy Spirit asking for an increase in awareness of their presence. The Holy Spirit is constantly guiding us in all aspects of our lives, bringing us closer to heaven. When we work on developing a relationship with one person of the Holy Trinity, we grow closer to all three, blossoming in holiness and love.

Saint of the Day

St. Mary Magdalene de Pazzi: 1566 – 1607

“I saw God alone, in His own glory, loving and knowing Himself intimately and understanding Himself infinitely; loving creatures with a pure and infinite love; in a single indivisible union, only one subsistent God, of infinite love, absolute goodness, incomprehensible and unfathomable.”

St. Mary Magdalene de Pazzi
