Gospel Reflection – May 11, 2025

Jesus tells the people that his sheep hear and follow his voice, and that no one can take them from him because the Father has given them to him. His sheep shall have eternal life.

We are Jesus’ sheep and he is our shepherd. We know his voice, and most of the time, we follow it. Even when we fall away and don’t follow him, his voice will always bring us back. Us being Jesus’ sheep should not be taken lightly. His is our shepherd and will not let us be taken away from him. Yes, we sin, and so voluntarily become lost and wander for a while. But as long as we do not reject Jesus, he will always come looking and bring us back to the fold, with our cooperation.

That is not to say he promises an easy life with no conflict or hardship. What Jesus does offer is divine protection, grace, and eternal life. We work through the tough moments by hearing and listening to his voice, which is ultimately leading us to heaven.
