“And whatever you ask in my name, I will do,
john 14:13
so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.”
John 14:6-14
Reflection
Jesus declares that he is the way, the truth, and the life. He says that if you know him, you also know the Father. The Father is in Jesus, and Jesus is in the Father. Anyone who believes in Jesus will do great works, and anything they ask in his name will be granted.
Jesus tells us that if we ask anything of him, he will do it. Many times, we are scared to ask the Lord for what we want, afraid it won’t be granted. While it is true our prayer might not be granted in the way we want or think it will be, that doesn’t mean Jesus fell short. He simply perfects your desire and answers it in the best way possible for you, whether you know it or not.
Jesus is the Truth, the Way, and the Life. He desires to lead you down such a path of truth and life, drawing you nearer to himself. When we ask him to hear a particular prayer, regardless of how big a dream it might be, he will grant it if it leads us toward the way of salvation and reveals his ultimate goodness.
Dream big and pray fervently. The Lord hears you and will answer you in his perfect, life-giving way.
Saint of the Day
Sts. Philip and James
Saints Philip and James are celebrated jointly today. They are two of the Twelve Apostles. They share a feast day because their relics were brought to Rome together in AD 560, where they were laid to rest in a basilica dedicated to them.
St. Philip and St. James, pray for us!
