For the one whom God sent speaks the words of God.
john 3:34
He does not ration his gift of the Spirit.
John 3:31-36
Reflection
The passage today states that the one from heaven is above all, and those who accept his testimony prove God’s trustworthiness. The gift of the Spirit is not rationed for those people, and they have eternal life. But those who do not believe have the wrath of God upon them.
God is generous to those who believe and trust in him. Eternal life and the gifts of the Holy Spirit are only some ways God shows his great love. Do you want to take advantage of those gifts and put all your faith in the Lord?
We are called to heaven, to eternal life with God. The earth and our life on it pass quickly away, they do not remain. If you live with this attitude, following Christ becomes the number one goal. Eternity is forever, and the Lord wants us to be with him there.
How can you further detach yourself from this world? Ask for the grace to focus on heaven, not earth, and to follow the Lord always.
Saint of the Day
St. Joseph the Worker
This feast day was instituted in 1955 to honor the value and dignity of work. The importance of St. Joseph as a laborer is a common theme, and today we honor this title as we go about our daily lives, working in the manner God has called us to.
St. Joseph the Worker, pray for us!
